My Comp II Projects

Welcome to my Comp II journey! This course was designed to deepen our critical thinking and writing skills through three distinct projects.

Each project builds on the skills from the last, giving us the opportunity to refine our analysis, strengthen arguments, and deepen our grasp of language and literature. This is a journey of exploration into ideas and expression.

Here's a snapshot of what we'll explore:

Project 1: Argumentative Analysis Essay

Our first project was to draft an argumentative academic essay, we were charged with the task of crafting an argumentative essay, challenging us to research and analyze a topic of significance to society and ourselves. We were to address a pressing social issue of our choice and propose three viable solutions.

My social epidemic covered the outrageously high incarceration rate of women in America, focusing specifically on Oklahoma, with three viable solutions to solve this cultural phenomenon.

Project 2: Rhetorical Analysis Essay

Our second project was a rhetorical analysis essay, meant to connect and evaluate our societal issue through the lens of absurdist literature: What would absurdist authors think about this social epidemic?

I chose Albert Camus and what his response would be to the alarming rate of imprisoned women. By evaluating his literary works and applying his absurd and philosophical perspectives to my study, I gained deeper insight into the complexities of women’s injustice behind bars.

Project 3: Reflective Essay

For our third and final project, we were to combine all of our best writing skills learned throughout the semester in the form of a comparative essay. This reflective endeavor is a culmination of our academic journey and serves to, not only enhance our academic prowess, but also cultivate a deeper appreciation for the power of language and ideas.
